I stayed up late last night with Stephanie and watched a movie - "Zombieland". I thought it turned out better than I thought, Steph thought it was worse. Well, you know what they say about opinions... I got up at about 7:30 this morning, first day of no work. No kids around. It was wonderful. I went to the gym and ran a 3 mile training PR of 21:57. After the Black History Month 5K I found out I had come in third, and I thought maybe that was middle of the road for my age group. I learned today when I checked the official results that I was third of 19. Now I'm thinking that's not half bad. My goal for the marathon was 3:40, but I'm thinking about chopping it down to 3:30. I'll keep tabs on myself. The only song of note I heard since last post is "Never let you go" by Steelheart. Now I'm watching the anticlimax of the epochal story of the great Danica Patrick. There has been and undue amount of pressure on her. Anything less than a moonshot today and the blogosphere will be all over her.
Yesterday I went to walmart to get Stephanie a bunch of Valentine's stuff. I ended up getting Chocolate, A giant card, a giant teddy bear, cookies, a form fitting camisole, two bras, and a chocolate cake. (The cake was not for valentine's day it's just because I wanted a cake) That's when I realized I needed to get Steph some female products. I normally don't have a problem with it, but when I need guidance in that area I need her to answer the phone. So anyway, if you can picture me with all that crap in my cart, standing in the feminine hygiene product aisle with an unresponsive cellphone in my ear, tapping my foot and muttering - "oh for the love of pete, come on!!" So I did my best and got my idea of the best product. Standing there in checkout line 15 the lady asked me about my wife and I said: "What makes you think that I'm married?" It would have been creepy if the lady was attractive at all. Clearly I was going for a laugh. Alas, my endeavor was unsuccessful. And so, now here I am in the man cave, listening to Aerosmith and watching the NASCAR minor league race.

Four Puppies
Today I tried to get up and run 3 miles on the treadmill, but I was up so darn late that I could not roust myself until about 5:50AM. Almost late to work. I got to work and found out on short notice that I would be teaching the academic class. I was very unprepared for instructing. Well, turns out that I did ok, mostly ad-libbing, following the lesson plan, you know, bull shitting the students. I got out and drove the kids to DeFuniak Springs and met Ed halfway to his house. The kids are with their Neena and I don't have to work for 3 weeks. Frankly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself. I shouldn't worry, I'm sure Stephanie will find some way to keep me busy. Why when I buy fast food and get a triple fat assburger do I get a freaking diet soda. I know I'm not alone either. We are all so stupid in this country. Oh, it's snowing in southern Alabama. I am going to try and run my 3 miles later.

...Another dollar
So anyway, yesterday my friend SSG Pinson tells me that we are running in the morning. So I skipped my 3 mile pre-PT run and get an extra hour sleep. I show up at 6 and SURPRISE!!! Urinalysis. So I did that instead. At 8:30 I get to work and submit the status reports. I know its not a big deal but I'm in charge today and I'm kind of excited about it. Expect this excitement to wear thin really soon, but maybe I'm just being a pessimist. More later.

Angel of Harlem
Stephanie passed her test with flying colors and she must study no more!!! I'm very happy to get my wife back. So, we got a good night sleep, I woke up at 5:10 and went to work. I was 30 seconds late to PT, but they didn't care and we reconvened at Yano Hall. It wasn't a very challenging session, which is fine with me as this is a recovery week. Tomorrow I got 3 miles, and next week I'm going on leave. I finished season one of Lost, and I must say it is not at all what I expected. Very good, and now I've started season two. My iPod froze up for the 1000th time and I think I figured out how to unfreeze it without draining the battery. This is information that may have been useful about 2 years ago when the problem started. Oh, well - you live and you learn. Songs of note that I "discovered" since my first post - "The End" by the Doors, and "Angels Wings" by Social Distortion. That is all for now. More later.

Why is water wet?
Yesterday was a break day. No run. I didn't do much yesterday, at all. After I got home, I made dinner, Peaches, Mashed Potatoes, and Sloppy Joes. Stephanie studied all day. Today is her test. So, I got up this morning (after a great nights rest,) and went to PT. We were going to run 4 miles as a platoon, so I skipped my personal run. Unfortunately, we got rained out and I did not run. So I am going to try at lunchtime. Steph is driving to take her test at 11:30 and I have to pick up the kids today. I hope she does well. I've been looking a lot into the great blog "Every Bob Dylan Song". More later.

We don't need no water
So. I was up late. Trying to sleep but Sarah Silverman was on and that's always funny. At 11:30 I started to pass out. At 12:30, Stephanie was saying that she heard loud music downstairs. She wanted to know if it was possible for my itunes to start playing all by itself. I told her no, but she wanted me to check anyway. So I did. There was nothing going on but at least she had her peace of mind. I tried to go back to sleep. Started to succeed but then at 1:30 I heard crying outside my room. It was Conner. His thumb hurts. At 1:30AM. So I gave him an Ibuprofen and some Hydrocortisone. I told him to follow up later. Back to sleep. At 2:30, Stephanie started talking in her sleep. I could do nothing but listen. Of course at 3:30 I woke up for work. Turns out Steph was having a nightmare. She said she was horrible burnt and ugly. I told her that was clearly a dream, because she is not an ugly woman. Off to work now!

Another day
So I got up late and ran 4 miles. Stephanie is working really hard on studying for the test on Tuesday. Maybe we can have a little time together after she takes it. So, I watched the Super Bowl.... it was really good. Maybe I should watch more football. Haha. The seasons over, good timing, Kev. Well, NASCAR just started, so I'll just watch some of that instead. The kids watched the Green Lantern movie I downloaded. It looked pretty good, but I missed most of it (super bowl, dummy, remember?) Going to bed. Have to grade IET APFT in the morning.
