Danica Patrick

I stayed up late last night with Stephanie and watched a movie - "Zombieland". I thought it turned out better than I thought, Steph thought it was worse. Well, you know what they say about opinions... I got up at about 7:30 this morning, first day of no work. No kids around. It was wonderful. I went to the gym and ran a 3 mile training PR of 21:57. After the Black History Month 5K I found out I had come in third, and I thought maybe that was middle of the road for my age group. I learned today when I checked the official results that I was third of 19. Now I'm thinking that's not half bad. My goal for the marathon was 3:40, but I'm thinking about chopping it down to 3:30. I'll keep tabs on myself. The only song of note I heard since last post is "Never let you go" by Steelheart. Now I'm watching the anticlimax of the epochal story of the great Danica Patrick. There has been and undue amount of pressure on her. Anything less than a moonshot today and the blogosphere will be all over her.

Yesterday I went to walmart to get Stephanie a bunch of Valentine's stuff. I ended up getting Chocolate, A giant card, a giant teddy bear, cookies, a form fitting camisole, two bras, and a chocolate cake. (The cake was not for valentine's day it's just because I wanted a cake) That's when I realized I needed to get Steph some female products. I normally don't have a problem with it, but when I need guidance in that area I need her to answer the phone. So anyway, if you can picture me with all that crap in my cart, standing in the feminine hygiene product aisle with an unresponsive cellphone in my ear, tapping my foot and muttering - "oh for the love of pete, come on!!" So I did my best and got my idea of the best product. Standing there in checkout line 15 the lady asked me about my wife and I said: "What makes you think that I'm married?" It would have been creepy if the lady was attractive at all. Clearly I was going for a laugh. Alas, my endeavor was unsuccessful. And so, now here I am in the man cave, listening to Aerosmith and watching the NASCAR minor league race.
